When the Suns returned from the holiday break, they were ready to get back to learning. Students in Layne Moss’s 2nd grade class at Spring Hill Elementary sharpened up their addition and subtraction skills by getting outside of the classroom.

The class participated in “Snowball Scoot” where they used regrouping to tackle two-digit addition and subtraction problems posted in the hallway, “scooting” along until they solved them all.

It was a great refresher for the students. They had learned the concept and strategies for regrouping before the winter break, and the activity helped them review and practice the steps to solve those kinds of math problems.
