UPDATED MONDAY, Dec. 27 — A north Fayette County man on Dec. 26 died as a result of a gunshot wound that occurred during an argument with an adult family member.

Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies on Dec. 26 at approximately 4:27 p.m. responded to a Skyline Drive residence at the Four Seasons Mobile Home Park off Rivers Road in connection with a domestic incident.

Upon arrival, deputies found that an adult male had been shot in the chest with a handgun, Babb said.

Babb said the family member who shot her brother was at the scene and was the person who called 911.

The adult brother and sister had been involved in an argument prior to the shooting, Babb noted.

The brother, 22-year-old Joshua Buckles, a resident at Four Seasons, was transported to Piedmont Fayette Hospital in critical condition and later died, Babb said.

Babb said investigators are currently reviewing the evidence and taking witness statements, adding that no charges have been filed at this time.
