Katy Sweat’s Reading Plus classes at Whitewater Middle are big winners. Sweat’s kids were the champs in the Middle School Division of the Reading Plus Race to 21 Competition.

Sweat’s 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading Plus classes participated and had to complete an average of 21 See Reader lessons with an average of 80% or higher.

The contest ran from the first day of school through October 31, and students throughout Florida and Georgia completed 54,564 Reading Lessons hitting the target score.

“I hope the students will become stronger, more confident readers. I hope they are reading faster, recognizing new words, and comprehending what they read,” said Sweat. “I hope my students will develop new interests and enjoy learning about things through reading!”
