0Harvest day brought a bounty of healthy foods to North Fayette Elementary, as STEM Dolphins harvested Romain and Buttercrunch lettuce, grape tomatoes, and cucumbers to make delicious salads.
Students in Daniel Barry’s 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade STEM classes built, plant, and maintain a fruit and vegetable garden, and they got to taste the fruits of their labor.
“I want them to know that food is grown, it does not just magically appear at Kroger or Publix,” said Barry. “It was great to see them try the different vegetables and notice the difference in flavor and freshness.”
