John and Kelly Padgett Epps, Newnan, were recognized recently for the preparation of over 100 meals for distribution to elderly and vulnerable people during the pandemic. Both have culinary experience. Although he is a painter by profession, Mr. Epps took classes in culinary arts at Southern Crescent Technical College and Mrs. Epps currently works at the Senoia Coffee and Cafe. They were named as “Community Missionaries” at  Sharpsburg’s Christ the King Church. The designation is reserved for people at the church who reach out beyond the walls of the church in service and ministry to the community. The ministry, called Gianna’s Kitchen, is named in honor of the daughter they lost about four years ago. The ministry will be ongoing throughout the current situation and beyond. Photo/Submitted.
