A 17-year-old Fayette County woman has been charged with murder in the death of her grandmother at their residence in north Fayette.

Alisha K. Pompey on July 6 was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies at approximately 8:15 a.m. on July 6 were initially dispatched to a medical call at a residence on Bradford Drive in the Four Seasons Mobile Home Park on Rivers Road in north Fayette.

Babb said the incident was subsequently determined to be domestic-family violence in nature.

Deputies found 66-year-old Dorothy Pompey deceased in the residence, Babb said.

Alisha Pompey, the granddaughter of the deceased, was arrested without incident at the residence later in the morning, said Babb.

Babb noted that Pompey was charged as an adult.

Alisha Pompey, Dorothy Pompey and other family members resided at the home, Babb noted.

No additional information pertaining to the death is being released at this time, said Babb.
