An East Point man had his vehicle hijacked during the early morning hours of June 19 while at the intersection of Planterra Way and Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City. The man was forcibly removed from his vehicle by a male who then drove the hijacked vehicle from the scene. The vehicle was located hours later in Pike County.
Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt said the incident occurred at approximately 2:12 a.m. while the East Point resident was at the intersection of Planterra Way and Hwy. 54 West.
The victim told officers he was forcibly removed from the vehicle by an unknown black male who snatched him out of the car, entered his vehicle and drove away, Hyatt said.
The vehicle owner was not injured and no weapons were used in the incident, said Hyatt.
Hyatt said the car was recovered hours later in Pike County at approximately 6 a.m.
