McIntosh High School Cheerleaders honored as state champions

The Georgia House of Representatives recently passed a resolution recognizing and congratulating the McIntosh High School competition cheerleaders for winning the 2019 GHSA 5A State Cheerleading Championship. It was House Resolution 970 by Representatives Bonner of the 72nd, Singleton of the 71st, and Mathiak of the 73rd.

“Another season of hard work and dedication paved the way for the McIntosh High School competition cheerleading team to win another state title, the 2019 GHSA 5A State Cheerleading Championship,” the resolution says.

“The phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; as well as the astute direction of the coaches Shannon Bednarowski, Lynne Brushchetti, Danielle Wolf, and Catie Callen,” the resolution continued.

“The cheerleaders won with an impressive score of 106 out of 107; and these outstanding athletes demonstrated discipline, dedication, support for each other, and a belief in their ability to succeed throughout the season with routines, tumbling, and formations that demonstrated their high level of skill, energy, creativity, and athletic ability,” the House resolution says. and

“Whereas, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over years of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions,” the resolution concludes.
