February 14th is a day where most spread love to significant others, but the student advisory committee at the Open Campus High School and Alternative Education Program decided to share their love amongst the community.

These students came together and planned a school-wide Valentine’s Day project where they created over 100 handmade Valentine’s cards for residents at Azalea Estates Assisted Living and local first responders including firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical technicians.

English teacher, Mary Tuck, says “The students really wanted to show community members how much they are appreciated.”

Tuck also made a homemade pound cake and hand-delivered Valentine’s cards to the Fayetteville Fire and Police department.
