A Fayetteville man is in custody following a Jan. 29 physical altercation at a bar in Peachtree City, then fighting with officers who later found him at a restaurant.

Brandon Ferguson, 29, was charged with DUI alcohol, driving with suspended license, simple battery against police, theft of services, battery, simple battery, terroristic threats and acts and two counts of obstruction, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt said the Jan. 29 incidents involving Ferguson began at approximately 1:37 a.m. at a bar on Ga. Highway 54 where he struck a man in the face, and left the area.

Police were contacted, and issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for Ferguson’s vehicle.

Hyatt said patrol officers located the vehicle and Ferguson after he exited a restaurant, where he did not pay for his meal.

Ordered to get out of his truck, Ferguson initially refused, telling officers they would have to fight him, Hyatt said, adding that Ferguson did exit the vehicle and fought with officers before he was subdued.

Ferguson was later transported to the Fayette County Jail by Fayetteville officers, after he had been seen at Piedmont Fayette Hospital due to his level of intoxication, Hyatt said.
