Fayette County resident Matthew Hyle was recently awarded the American Legion 2019 “Eagle Scout of the Year” Scholarship for the State of Georgia.

Hyle was nominated by Fayette County American Legion Post 105. He recently graduated from Starr’s Mill High School and is a member of Troop 181 in Peachtree City.

Post 105 is the oldest military veterans organization in Fayette County and meets the second Monday of each month at the historic Log Cabin in Fayetteville.
