An Acworth man faces charges after an April 28 altercation in Peachtree City where he struck a man with a handgun and fired the weapon in the direction of the home he was visiting off North Peachtree Parkway.
Ledderick D. Moye, 31, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, second degree criminal damage to property, obstruction, third degree cruelty to children and misdemeanor marijuana possession, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Matt Myers said Moye, who was visiting the home of an acquaintance, and another man were outside the Garden Gate residence engaged in a verbal and physical altercation.
At one point, Moye produced a handgun and struck the man, who left the immediate area and entered the house. It was then that Moye fired the weapon in the direction of the house, Myers said.
Officers arrived to find four people outside the residence, including Moye, said Myers, adding that Moye was charged after the investigation.
The cruelty to children charge was the result of a child being present in the home, said Myers.
