Earnest Eldred Banks, 85, of Fayetteville

Earnest Eldred Banks, 85, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

He was born in Fayetteville on August 22, 1933 to the late Ethel and Earnest Banks.  He was a graduate of Fayette County High School.  Eldred was retired from the United States Postal Service.  He also proudly served his country in the Coast Guard.

Eldred was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Delores Banks; his sons, Earnie Banks (Donna), Michael Banks (Julie) and Keith Banks (Cathy); his daughter, Cindy Ziberna (George); nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

His funeral service was at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga., with Reverend Chuck Scott officiating.  Burial followed at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.  The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the funeral home.
