Abortion solution: Make men legally liable for children

Citizen-Letters-1

After reading Mr. Hoffman’s letter in the Oct. 17 issue of The Citizen, I have come up with a solution to his problem.

The government should make it a law that from this day forward all men who impregnate a woman to whom they are not married should bear equal responsibility for the child.

Because of DNA testing, men will no longer be able to say, “It’s not my child,” and therefore can share the physical, emotional and financial burden of raising an unwanted child. No more skipping town or claiming that “she slept with everyone.”

This would not only improve the life of the woman, but also the child, and as an added bonus it would put those back-alley abortionists (a grim reminder from pre-Roe v. Wade days) out of business.

Mr. Hoffman needs to step up as I am sure a few Republican women would come forward and support my solution.

As for Judge Kavanaugh, he gets to face his Maker in due time. Did he or didn’t he is a question we will never have the answer to, but I think the comment, “Where there is smoke there is fire” may apply.

Dr. Ford raised questions about Judge Kavanaugh’s character and was blasted by the Republicans. Judge Kavanaugh’s loud protestations spoke volumes to women who have been harassed by unwelcome advances. I was waiting for him to get up and start yelling in his best playground voice, “I didn’t do it!”
