Ildra Catherine Greenway, 92, of Fayetteville passed away August 3, 2018. Catherine was born on November 1, 1925 to Quilla Jacob and Annie Lee Thomas Hardy in Jackson, Ga.
Catherine married Philip Greenway on July 20, 1963. They moved to Atlanta, Ga. from Birmingham in 1964 and lived in Atlanta until 1998 when they built their final home in Fayetteville.
Catherine worked for Sears and Roebuck home offices in accounting from 1964-1967, then for Sharp’s Appliance from 1977-1998. She was a stay at home mother when her daughter, Celia, was born.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and all 7 of her siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Celia Greenway Kendrick and husband, Charles Morgan Kendrick, Jr.; grandchildren, Ivy, Erin, and Blake Kendrick; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to two wonderful caregivers, Valerie Buckley and Sherene Dunn.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Forest Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
