Alta Louise Cline Rollins, a long-time resident of Tyrone, Ga. died at home on July 23.

Born in Kannapolis, N.C. on July 31, 1930 to Ernest Cline and Mabel Brown Cline, Alta received her Registered Nursing degree from Mercy Hospital  and worked several years at the VA Hospital in Salisbury, N.C., before moving to East Point, Ga., with her husband Wade.   After their move to Georgia, Alta worked at South Fulton Hospital for 25 more years before her retirement.

In her retirement she enjoyed tending to her poodles and traveling with Wade.   She was also very involved in her church, Southwest Christian Church, and especially enjoyed the fellowship of the weekly ladies’ Bible study.   Her caring and giving nature was on full display, in the workplace, at church, and in the community, until Alzheimer’s disease began to take its toll.   Her family rejoices that Alta is no longer suffering but is at home with all the saints in glory.

Alta is survived by her husband, Wade L. Rollins; son, Scott (Beth) Rollins; daughter, Linda (Joe) Szady;  grand-children, Margaret (Michael) Smith, Grace Mitchell, Carter Rollins, and Georgia Rollins;  great-grandchildren, Charlie Kersey, Harper Kersey, and Sawyer Kersey.  She is also survived by her dear friends, Edward and Julie Darvas; caretaker of the century, Stacey Johnson; and several other wonderful Hospice caretakers who are too many to name.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Memorial service will follow. Dr. Scott Rollins will preside at the service.  Memorial gifts may be made at www.alz.org to the Alzheimer’s Association.
