Two teams from Fayette who reached the AAAAA semifinals of the GHSA state tennis tournament were able to go no farther.
Starr’s Mill, the defending state champion, fell 3-0 to Buford in one semifinal while McIntosh lost 3-1 to Flowery Branch in the other.
Buford and Flowery Branch will play for the state title Saturday at Berry College’s Rome Tennis Center.
