Local baseball teams completed the first round of the GHSA state baseball playoffs and the winners will play again later this week.
East Coweta, Northgate and McIntosh saw their season come to a close with first-round losses to Camden County, River Ridge and Ola, respectively.
Moving on are Starr’s Mill and Whitewater. The Panthers downed Union Grove in the first round and will host Harris County next. The Wildcats defeated Jones County and will now travel to Veterans.
Each second-round matchup is a best-of-three series beginning with a May 3 doubleheader and a third game the next day if necessary.
