Mrs. Dorothy Marie Walker, 89, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018.
She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., and lived there until moving to Georgia in 2001 to be close to family. Known as “Dot” to most, she was a gentle, sweet and loving lady always making others feel important and loved. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 70 years. She never knew a stranger-always friendly to everyone and demonstrating God’s love of acceptance. Her influence will continue as others remember her as a person of integrity, love and laughter!
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Francis William Walker (Bill); a son, William Brian Walker; and one brother, Thomas Rutland Crook.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances “Kay” Fry (Frank); daughter, Connie Jean Miller (Gary); son, Dr. William “Bill” Walker (Katie); grandchildren, Shelly, Shana, Shawn, Shane, Brian, and Jamie; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 22 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 23, at the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City, 208 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City with Dr. Joey Rodgers officiating. Interment was at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Ga.
