A group of Whitewater Middle School seventh-graders traveled recently to the University of Georgia for the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair.

Out of 300 junior division (middle school) projects entered from across the state, the trio brought home a First Place Honors award, meaning their project finished in the top 10 in the entire junior division. They also were awarded the Most Outstanding 7th-Grade Project.

The title of their project was “Collision Chaos” and they tried to determine if there was a material to help reduce the amount of concussions happening in sports and even child’s play.
