James “Jim” Alton Henley, 76, of Fayetteville passed away February 13, 2018.
Jim retired from Merck Pharmaceutical Corporation. He proudly served his country in the US Armed Forces. He was the past president of the Gideons International, Fayette East Camp. Jim was a deacon at First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, on the Chaplain’s Board at Hartsfield International Airport, and served as a Chaplain at Hartsfield International Airport.
Jim is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Zee Henley; daughter, Robin (Tim) Hearington; sons, Jimmy (Robin) Henley, Paul (Jennifer) Henley, and Scott (Amy) Henley; grandchildren, Amanda (William) Threadgill, Ashley (David) White, Josh (Elise) Henley, Mitchell (Regan) Henley, Zach, Brenna, Jacob, Sarah, Jordan and Micah Henley; five great-grandchildren and two on the way; brother-in-law, Alan (Shirley) Strickland; and sister-in-law, Shirley Henley.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Ga. with Rev. Irvin Pearre and Rev. Hinton Harris officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 6 –8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
