William Dan McGee of Peachtree City, Georgia passed away on January 1, 2018 at the age of 89.
He was born on September 1, 1928 in Thomaston, Georgia to Elmo and Fannie Lee McGee. He grew up in Thomaston and attended elementary and high school there. He enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corps and upon discharge, attended Southern Poly Tech University and Georgia Tech. He was employed by Lockheed Aircraft Corp. for 39 years. He was a senior manufacturing engineer and assistant manager of the manufacturing engineering department.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise McGee; daughter, Janet Maddox (John); granddaughter, Jennifer Maddox of Peachtree City; son, David McGee of Newnan, Georgia, and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother, Joseph McGee and his parents.
A visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City where the funeral service immediately followed at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home. The Reverend Sean Robinson officiated. Interment followed at the Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in memory of Mr. McGee to the Building Fund of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church.
