Russell E. Hudson, Jr., 83, passed away December 25, 2017.
A native of Columbus, Mississippi, son of the late Russell E. Hudson, Sr. and Eva Byrd Fraser Hudson, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired employee of Toyota Material Handling USA and a former employee of Nissan North America (Industrial Div.)
Surviving are his wife, Anne Willis Hudson of the home; a daughter, Teresa Dupre Mackey of Kennesaw, Georgia; step-daughter, Jennie Arrington (Patrick) of Taylors; step-son, Nate Herring (Kristin) of Greenville; two brothers, Berkley Hudson (Milbre) of Columbia, Missouri and Donald Hudson (Barbara) of Franklin, Tennessee; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hudson was predeceased by one brother, Carroll Hudson.
He was a 1956 graduate of the University of Mississippi in Oxford MS and a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and a very avid Ole Miss football fan.
A memorial service will be held on Jan 13, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Wade Hampton Blvd. conducted by Pastor Bruce Boehner of LCOS and Father Michael Schnatterly of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Greer, S.C. A reception will be held after the service at the church.
Russell was a former resident of Peachtree City, Ga. for 45 plus years and a member of Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. A second memorial service will be held at Christ Our Shepherd in Peachtree City, Ga. on Feb 10, 2018 with Pastor Miriam Beecher and former Pastor John Weber officiating. The family is at the home.
