Mr. F. M. Farr, 87, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
F. M. was born in Tyrone, on January 6, 1930 to the late Henry Grady and Mary Louise Farr, one of seven children. He graduated from Fayette County High School and went on to marry his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Bailey Farr .
F. M. proudly served in the United States Army in France, from February 1951 until February 1953 as a PFC engineer, where he lived in a tent during this time. F. M. worked in the trucking industry for 40 years, and then at American General Insurance for another 17 years. He was an active member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church, where he taught 7th grade boys, until joining the Keystone Workers Fellowship class. He was also ordained and served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Farr; daughter, Anne (Jim) Hardin of Greenville, S.C.; son, Allan (Marina) Farr of Palmetto; sister, Shirley Presley of Griffin; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, with Rev. Jack Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will immediate follow at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Homebound Ministry at Fayetteville First Baptist Church – www.fayettevillefbc.org/seniors
