Remember the project that will resurface the entire length of Ga. Highway 54 through Fayette County? That’s from the Coweta County line on the west side of Peachtree City all the way to the Clayton County line east of Fayetteville. It’s still on, with activities expected to come with a March 2018 time frame.

Fayette County Public Works Director Phil Mallon recently said the contract was awarded to E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. in the amount of $14,159,974.

Mallon said the contract has been executed and a notice to proceed was issued.

Ga. Department of Transportation will soon schedule a pre-construction conference, with work anticipated to begin around March of next year, Mallon said, adding that the date is subject to change.

More information is expected to be avilable prior to the resurfacing. Bottom line, the entire length of Hwy. 54, extending from Coweta County to Clayton County, through Peachtree City and Fayetteville, will be resurfaced.
