William Robert Allen “Bob” went home to heaven on November 27, 2017 in Melbourne, Fla. He was 80 years old.
Bob was born on August 30,1937 in Atlanta, Ga. to parents Hulbert and Gertrude Allen. He graduated in 1955 from Brown High School in Atlanta. He graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel Technical School in 1957 and went back to Atlanta to work for Harry Sommers Chrysler Dodge. Married Patricia G. Wilkerson on April 4,1959. He served in Air Force Reserves 1959-1965. He also worked at Stone Mountain Chrysler Plymouth and Landmark Dodge where he worked til he retired at the age of 62.
His faith was always important to him, he served as deacon at Colonial Hills Baptist Church in East Point, Ga. and was a 23-year member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ga.
He is survived by his wife Patricia W. Allen, Melbourne Fla., brother Jimmy Allen, Newnan Ga., daughter Sandy Washburn and son-in-law Scott Washburn, Indialantic, Fla., daughter Angie Davis, and son-in-law Keith Davis, Inman, S.C. He was a beloved Bob-Bob to six grandchildren Shelley Walton, Brent Washburn, Jake Davis, Luke Davis, Shane Washburn and Katie Davis, also grandson-in-law David Walton, granddaughter-in-law Kiley Washburn. Four great-grandchildren Benji, Brooklyn, Brayden & Wyatt.
Celebration of life service was held at Flat Creek Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017.
