Betty Riley, 88, of Peachtree City, Ga. left her earthly home on November 16, 2017. She was surrounded by her family who had the privilege of being with her when she entered her new Heavenly home.
Betty’s lifelong passion of teaching culminated in a career at Woodward Academy. Starting there in 1968, she retired after 26 years of service. Obtaining her degree from The Woman’s College University of North Carolina and then later her masters from Georgia State University, Betty was truly the consummate student and teacher. Teaching and starting the life journey of hundreds of first grade students, she truly did what she loved, and was loved by them.
Betty is survived by her son, David (Melanie) Riley; her daughter, Amy (Joe) Puleo; her brother, Mike (Cheryl) Tuttle; her grandchildren, Zachary (Jennifer), Matthew and Michael Riley; Katy (Russ) Rieske, Michael, Rachel and Brian Puleo; great- grandchildren, Ella Rieske and Nora Riley; and her nephews, Scott, Chris, and Jason Tuttle.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Dogwood Church in Tyrone, Ga. The family received friends from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
The family would be honored for all guest to attend a Celebratory Luncheon immediately following the ceremony.
