John Felton Armstrong, 95, of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017.
He was born in Chipley, Ga. on February 16, 1922 to John Henry and Myrtie Armstrong. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was employed by Atlanta Dairy and Roman Cleanser of Griffin for many years. He was known as “Mr. Fix It” by many family members and friends.
Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Kelly Armstrong; his parents and six siblings.
He is survived by his daughters, Ellen Leslie (Paul) of Athens; Jane Graves (Mitchell DeDona) of Fayetteville, and Kathy Sawyer (Bob) of Peachtree City; three grandchildren, Johnathan Starrett, Sarah MacDonald and Michelle Hamner; three great-grandchildren, Kimberly Starrett and Owen and Reid Hamner.
A graveside service for Mr. Armstrong was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, 285 Bethany Church Road, Pine Mountain, Ga. 31822. The family received friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
Mr. Armstrong’s family would like to express their heart-felt thanks to the staff at Heritage of Peachtree Assisted Living facility for the compassionate care, friendship and support that they provided to John while he resided there.
