Jackson “Brett” Baxley, 49, devoted husband and loving father, of Fayetteville, passed away October 15, 2017.
He was born in Atlanta, Ga. on June 26, 1968 to Vernon and Dixie Baxley. Brett proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the V.F.W. as well as the American Legion. He will be remembered as an inspiration to many wayward young men.
Brett was preceded in death by his brother, Bernie Baxley.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie H. Baxley; sons, Joshua Luke Baxley (Molly Marie), Jackson David Baxley, Joseph Andrew Baxley, and Brandon Baxley; parents, Vernon Bernice and Dixie Amelia Baxley; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and Sue Hardy; and sister, Jana (Brian) Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Reverend Bob Jones officiating. Burial will follow the service at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville with military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers, Mason Gunnin, Morgan Gunnin, Jared Wells, Trevor McKnight, Cody Painter, and Casey Gordon and they are requested to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
