Join us in celebration of the life of Charles Howard Preston, 92, who passed on to his Lord and Savior on October 7, 2017.
Charles was born December 14, 1924, in Riverdale, Ga. and graduated from Richardson High School in College Park, Ga. Charles served in the United States Army from 1941-1944. He was sent to the Pacific Theatre of World War II where he participated in the New Guinea Campaign. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 35 years of civil service as a management analyst. Charles was a long-time member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean and parents, William Etowah and Pearl May Preston.
He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Preston (Thom) Blas of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Cynthia Lynn Kyle of Fayetteville, Ga.; his sister, Barbara (Don) Brown of Fayetteville, Ga.; his grandchildren, Bryan Ray (Julie) Swann of Decatur, Ga., Tara Lynn Blas (Tony Gravanda) of Johns Creek, Ga., Shelley Jackson Blas of Houston, Texas, and Shane Grant Kyle of Fayetteville, Ga.; his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, Taylor, and Adrianna.
The funeral service for Charles will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
