Citizens of Peachtree City, thank you for letting me serve on City Council. It is an honor and a privilege. While there are always opportunities for improvement, Peachtree City is a place we can all be proud to call home. By working together, we can continue to attract citizens like ourselves who value good schools, low crime and a high quality of life.

Great things are happening all over our city. Outsiders are taking notice and investing in our product. Leadership has strengthened. Our city manager has developed an overall culture of teamwork and professionalism.

Gone are the days of unprofessional accusations, name-calling and letter-writing. Let’s work together to keep them away. It is gratifying to see first-hand the efforts of a motivated city staff. On City Council, we all have the same desire to act in the best interest of all Peachtree City citizens. We are team players who consider other viewpoints before making decisions.

The election in November is very important, as three seats are to be filled. Selecting good council members can maintain strong leadership and continue our city’s growth.

If you have experience operating in a professional environment and can use those skills to benefit Peachtree City, I strongly encourage you to run for public office. We need people who recognize the value of competent leadership skills and how they can affect our quality of life (including home values) for generations to come.

If you are interested, this is the week to make that commitment. You can get more information on the process at: http://www.peachtree-city.org/index.aspx?NID=372.

Over the past 1.5 years, I am grateful to have played a small part in our city’s growth. If you are not interested in public office, please get to know your candidates and vote wisely in November. It is up to us as citizens to vote for whom we think will best represent our values and maintain a culture we can continue to be proud of.

Thanks again.
