Connor Coffee of Peachtree City, a rising sophomore at Kennesaw State University, placed second out of 144 players in the recent Georgia Amateur Championship. He shot scores of 69-69-65-66 for a total of 15 under par.

The tournament was held at West Lake Golf Club in Augusta. Bobby Jones won the first Georgia Amateur Championship in 1916.

Coffee birdied six of the last nine holes to make a run but fell just short. He also won the Men’s Club Championship in June for all the courses in Fayette County (Flat Creek, Planterra Ridge, Whitewater Creek, Braelinn).
