Fayetteville police are searching for a man who robbed the Chase Bank on South Glynn Street on July 10.

Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Mike Whitlow said the doors at the Summit Point location had just been unlocked for the day’s business when a man, described as a black male approximately 6 feet in height and weighing 190 pounds, entered the bank while talking on a cell phone.

Whitlow said the man walked up to a teller window then jumped over the counter.

“He pointed a gun at the teller and said, ‘give me all your money,’” Whitlow said.

The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank on foot heading north, said Whitlow.

Whitlow said officers arrived at the bank within 30 seconds but could not locate the man who was believed to have a car waiting nearby.

Whitlow said investigators were processing evidence from the scene.

Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at 770-461-4441.
