Mrs. Frances Louise Hunter Turner, age 101, of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Southwest Christian Hospice Care.
A native of Lagrange, Ga., Mrs. Turner was born on January 31, 1916, the daughter of the late John Brown Gordon Hunter, Sr. and the late Emily Jane Hunt. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fayetteville and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by four brothers; two sisters; and her childhood sweetheart and husband, Mr. James H. Turner, who died on November 3, 1971.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Mike Hannon; one sister, Elizabeth McWilliams; grandsons, David Turner (Erin) Hannon and Andrew Brian (Lindsey) Hannon; plus great-grandchildren, Liam Turner Hannon, Greta Mae Hannon, and the future, William Henry Hannon. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, to whom she was very close to as if they were her own.
A celebration of life services for Mrs. Turner will be conducted on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Campbell and Dr. Jimmy Ellison officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in the family plot of Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in West Point, Ga. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
