J&R Clothing may be making room for German grocer LIDL at its longtime location on Ga. Highway 85 North, but owner Richard Dumas said that, rather than closing its doors, the clothing mainstay in Fayetteville will be moving to a new location on Ga. Highway 54 West.

The J&R site on Hwy. 85 North is expected to become the home of LIDL’s first Fayette County grocery store. That transition, said Dumas, will come with J&R moving to its new location on Hwy. 54 West in Fayetteville, just west of Grady Avenue and adjacent to the BP station.

Dumas said he is planning a 22,000 sq. ft. strip center that will include the new location for J&R along with several retail spaces.

The bottom line, said Dumas, is that J&R is staying in Fayetteville.

Dumas said J&R will remain in its current location through early September.
