Fayette County Administrator Steve Rapson has added another responsibility to his list. Rapson in April was elected as president of the Georgia Association of County Managers and Administrators (GACMA).

Rapson was elected on April 29 by GACMA members attending the association’s meeting held in Savannah, in conjunction with the annual conference of the Association of County Commissioners (ACCG) of Georgia, according to ACCG.

During his one-year term as president, Rapson will serve as an ex-officio member of the ACCG Board of Managers.

During his tenure, Rapson will help plan and conduct two meetings for county managers and administrators. During the preceding year, Rapson served as vice-president of the organization and two years ago served as secretary-treasurer, ACCG said.

GACMA represents county managers and administrators and actively works to promote professional development and continuing education opportunities.
