McIntosh High School student Kylie Eves received the Best in Fair award at the West Metro Regional Social Studies Fair and will advance to the State Social Studies Fair in April.

Sponsored by the Georgia Council for the Social Studies, local, regional and state social studies fairs are designed for students to learn, practice, and perfect research processes that can be used now and in the future to make informed decisions that impact both today and posterity.

The fairs are open to students in grades 5-12. Each project includes research and conclusions about the study of people and their relationships to their physical and social environment.

Kylie’s project researches the question, “Is Music Therapeutic?” Projects include a display, research paper, and an abstract. Students must also present a five-minute oral overview of the project to the judges.

The State Social Studies Fair will take place on April 22 at Clayton State College in Morrow.

Kylie’s teacher is Andrew Clink.
