Parents of Huddleston Elementary School children got what they wanted on March 20 when the Fayette County Board of Education voted unanimously to hold off on spot redistricting until some time in the future.
A number of parents of the Peachtree City school opposed the proposed spot redistricting that would have begun next school year.
The recommendation by staff, and approved by the board, was to defer the redistricting of a portion of the Huddleston area, noting that it will be impacted in the future as part of a larger system redistricting process.
A part of the approval included the decision that the school will not be open for new special permission student transfers next school year.
