Storefronts will have 6 apartments on 2nd floor

A bid to include six apartments above the previously-approved Shops at Lafayette retail development on Glynn Street just north of downtown Fayetteville was approved Feb. 28 by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission.

The previous approval proposal by Steven Gulas included 10,800 sq. ft. of retail on the first floor with several store fronts that can be combined in various formats.

Approved on Feb. 28 was the addition of six apartments totaling 10,000 sq. ft. on the second floor. The apartments, which Gulas said could be sold rather than rented, will average approximately 1,400 sq. ft.

The brick structure will comply with Mainstreet Fayetteville standards.

The motion to approve the proposal was unanimous.
