Richard James “Dickey” Anderson, 71, of Senoia passed away at his home on Sunday, February 19, 2017. He was born in Chicago, Ill. on December 3, 1945 to Rose Mary and Horace Ray Anderson, but lived his entire life in Fayette County. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968 on the USS John King, achieving the rank of IC2. He was retired from Georgia Power Company after 41 years of service. He was also an active member of the JOY Sunday School Class at Woolsey Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Judi Anderson of Senoia; his daughter, Alicia (Kevin) Madden of Washington, Ga.; his son, Al (Tina) Anderson of Peachtree City; his grandchildren, Noah (Tarin) Madden of New Orleans and Taylor Madden of Washington, Ga.; and his sister, Jean Melton of Fairburn.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Woolsey Baptist Church, Fayetteville, with Rev. Kevin Madden officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 -1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be on Thursday, February 23, 2016 at noon at Philomath Cemetery in Philomath, Ga. 30660.
