James “Lewis” Roberts, Sr, 86, of Peachtree City, passed away January 8, 2017.
He was born in Haralson, Ga. on March 30, 1930 to the late Alva and Jeanette Roberts. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Lewis was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Roberts; granddaughter, Christina Leipold; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, LuAnne Roberts; sons, James (Cathy) Roberts, Jr. and Alva (Carla) Roberts; daughter, Cheryl Leipold; step-daughter, Fran (John) Hess; grandchildren, James Leipold, Rebaccah Sedgewick, Marie Holbrook, Stacie Leipold, Melissa Guy, Andrea Swafford, Adam Leipold, Emily Leipold, Miranda Leipold, Jeremiah Leipold, Laura Parris, James Lewis Roberts, III, Cally Roberts, Jennifer Hess, Jason Hess, and Justin Hess; and twenty-six great-grandchildren. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Reverend Dan McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends, Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
