“Students will be dismissed two hours early Friday. Elementary after-school program services are canceled,” according to a posting Friday morning on the school system’s website (fcboe.org).

“Due to the likelihood of frozen rain and/or snow (Friday) afternoon, and the concern about school buses and high school students being able to safely travel on the roadways, Fayette County Public Schools will dismiss all students two hours earlier than their regular dismissal time on Friday, January 6, 2017.

“Elementary school parents are encouraged to be at their child’s school bus stop, if possible, to ensure their safety in the event of slippery weather conditions. Elementary school After School Programs are canceled for Friday, January 6.  Extra-curricular activities beginning at 5 p.m. and throughout the weekend are postponed,” according to the system’s website posting.
