County employees enrolled in the Management Development Program offered by The University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government organized a collection of non-perishable food items as part of their leadership development.

The food drive is continuing through Dec. 30 and collection sites are located in the Fayette County Administrative Complex, Fayette County fire stations and the Fayette County Public Library.

After examining other opportunities to serve the community, the class determined the greatest impact would be a food drive to feed families in need during this holiday season and upcoming winter months.

The Management Development Program is a 20-week long leadership development training for county administrators and the Class of 2017 includes 18 county managers representing six Georgia counties.

The Mid West Food Bank – Georgia Division is located in Peachtree City and the food collected is shared with over 200 nonprofit organizations located in 42 counties.
