Desmond and Dymond Moore have known each other for nearly two decades.  They have played together, fought, laughed, gotten into mischief, and undoubtedly covered for one other mishaps.

They are siblings who are only a few months apart – Dymond is 18 and Desmond is 16. Their bond is unbreakable and far reaching to say the least as they consider one another his/her own “best friend.”

Last week they reached yet another milestone together as they both ranked in the Georgia DECA regional competition in Covington. Dymond placed first in the Brand and Fashion Marketing category while Desmond, took home the second-place medal in Quick Serve Marketing.

Dymond is not new to DECA as she has won several awards including first place in Georgia’s state competition and the Award of Excellence at the international level. This was Desmond’s first ever DECA competition. He said his sister talked him into joining the club for the field trips.

Dymond wishes to pursue a career in brand and fashion marketing, while Desmond’s goal is for the competitions to improve his college application resume as he pursues a career in sports psychology. He admits that it actually helps his present day endeavors as a guest server at Fayetteville’s only Chick-fil-A Dwarf House.  Though Dymond’s career aspirations are far from food service, she is no stranger to the food industry as she is employed by Fayetteville’s Papa John’s pizza.

The duo has set the standard high for their two younger siblings who are students at Inman Elementary School. Their parents are Daniel and Shaunda Mathieu of Fayetteville and Albert Moore of Bessemer, Ala. Their grandparents, Carl and Betty Davis, are lucky enough to reside in Fayetteville to be able to witness of their accomplishments.

Aside from DECA, Dymond serves the student body at Whitewater High as Student Council president. Desmond is a member of the saxophone section in Whitewater High School’s Wind Ensemble Band.

In addition to their parents, the pair would like to thank DECA sponsor Karen Stoll for guiding them along their paths.
