Last parcel in Braelinn Office Parks seeks parking variance
A variance request on the last piece of developable property at the Braelinn Office Park will be heard Nov. 3 by the Peachtree City Council.
Planning commissioners on Oct. 10 approved the conceptual site plan and elevations for a freestanding Goddard School day care facility totaling 8,725 sq. ft. on one a 1-acre tract in the Braelinn Office Park adjacent to the shopping center.
The proposal by Jefferson Browne included a variance request pertaining to a front parking setback that must be approved by the council. The variance request was recommended for approval by commissioners on a 4-0 vote.
Senior Planner David Rast said the site is the last remaining tract in the office park, adding that Goddard had been looking at the site for some time.
The building exterior will feature cultured stone, Hardiplank siding and architectural shingles.
The council on Nov. 3 will also consider the purchase of rescue engine with a price tag of $586,650.
In terms of a budget impact, Fire Chief Joe O’Conor said the 2017 Public Improvement Program budgeted $660,000 for this replacement apparatus. This engine is $73,350 below the budgeted amount. While some additional equipment purchases will be necessary to put this vehicle into service, the overall cost should be substantially below what was budgeted, O’Conor said.
The council will consider the annual renewal of the moratorium on multi-family rezoning. As has been the case for the past several years, the council must continue the moratorium on an annual basis.
