House fire off New Hope Road causes substantial damage, no injuries

An Oct. 13 house fire off New Hope Road left the residence largely damaged. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.

Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Fire Chief Tom Bartlett a call was received at 10:54 a.m., with units arriving at the 145 Heritage Way residence at 10:59 a.m.

“Units arrived to find the 2-story home well-involved on the rear with fire extending into the interior and attic,” said Bartlett.

Bartlett said homeowners were home at the time of the fire and were safely evacuated.

Bartlett said the fire appeared to have originated home’s rear exterior and worked its way into the attic. Approximately 85 percent of the home sustained damage, he said.

The Fayette County Fire Marshal was at the scene to determine a fire cause. There were no injuries to firefighters or residents, Bartlett added.

Fayetteville fire assisted with one engine on the fire under the automatic aid agreement. The county had three engines, a ladder truck and multiple support units at the scene, said Bartlett.
