WHS band wins championship

The Whitewater High Wildcat Marching Band was victorious at the “Super Bowl of Sound” marching band competition, earning all superior ratings that led to the band being named champions of the Class 4A division, and Grand Champions of the entire event.

Band members took first place in their class in the categories of Band, Percussion, and Drum Majors, and second for Color Guard. They also received “Best in Show” awards for Woodwinds, Front Ensemble and Visual Effect.

The band was named Grand Champions of the competition after receiving the highest overall score out of 20 competing bands, making this the ninth such championship the band has earned in the past eight years. Additionally, both the Color Guard and Percussion came in second overall in the show.
