Safety Summit is this Saturday
National Heights Baptist Church will host the Fayette Safety Summit on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants may register at www.fayettesafetysummit.com. Preregistration is recommended. Classes will be offered for ages five years old and up. There will be no child care for children under five years of age. Classes include active shooter, avoiding scams and cons, self defense, teen dating violence, anti-trafficking information, basic community preparedness presented by CERT (Community Emergency Response Training), CERT for Teens, as well as others. Bethany UMC plans Homecoming
Bethany United Methodist Church will celebrate Homecoming Sunday, Sept. 18, beginning with morning worship at 10:45 a.m. The Rev. Bruce Handy will be the guest preacher. A covered dish lunch will follow the service. Bethany is on the corner of Rivers/Milam and Lee’s Lake Roads in north Fayette County.
Sandy Creek Homecoming is Sept. 18
Sandy Creek Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 18. The morning worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Peach State Quartet as special guest. A covered-dish lunch will follow the service. The church is at 1082 Sandy Creek Rd., Fayetteville.
Women’s Day is Sunday
The women of Flipper Chapel A. M. E. Church will celebrate Women’s Day Sept. 18. At the 11 a.m. service Flipper Chapel’s the Rev. Joan Sanders, will be the speaker. At the 3 p.m. service the Rev. Jennifer Watley Maxwell of the Breakthrough Fellowship will be the speaker. The theme is “Women on the move for God.” Ephesians 2:10. The Rev. Kimberly Lyons is the host pastor. Sis.
