More than $34,000 was raised for kids in need at The Children’s Village at Christian City as 165 golfers and 37 sponsors came together for the recent Golf Fore Kids Classic.

“What you are really doing is more than golf – you are helping to break the cycle of generational poverty,” Christian City president/CEO Len Romano told the golfers. “At the Children’s Village at Christian City we have a 100 percent high school graduation rate. Children learn what a healthy family environment is like. We are so grateful to Dale Cardwell and all of our sponsors and golfers. Because of the generous support we receive from events like this, our children get a special kind of mulligan and can experience a childhood that is more like what God intended for them.”

First place went to RJH, Inc., whose foursome included: Roy Hill, Will Davidson, Jay Baker, and Mark Bucholtz.

First Christian Church of Stockbridge team, comprised of John Clabby, George Whitley, and Pat Owsby, won the Church Challenge.
