Fayetteville’s downtown business square is getting ready to welcome two more businesses.
During Thursday’s City Council meeting, the Council will consider approving an ancillary growler malt beverage tasting license for Gremlin Growlers. The company is moving from the Peachtree Crossing Shopping Center in the heart of Peachtree City to downtown, but needs to be able to let patrons sample the beverages before purchasing. The business would locate in the building closest to Ga. Highway 54, that was recently adorned with a mural.
The second business re-locating to the square is 92.5 The Bear radio station. The Bear used to be located in downtown Senoia, but now is in a shopping center in the east Coweta city. The city staff will update the City Council on an incentive package to lure the radio station to downtown.
In other action, the City Council will hear an update of the city’s Capital Improvements Element and Short Term work Program of the Comprehensive Plan.
In April, the city submitted the plan to the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Department of Community Affairs for review. Both entities signed off on the draft, and the Council must now grant final approval.
The city will also award a bid to Global Web Advisors for $29,997 to help rebrand the city.
“Initiating and completing this project will accomplish two of the recommended action items within the City’s Economic Development Strategy adopted by City Council earlier this year.
Specifically, under the category of Product Marketing, those strategic recommendations are to rebrand (or create) a unified Fayetteville brand, and to create a separate economic development portal to enhance the city’s website,” staff wrote in its recommendation to approve the project.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at Fayetteville City Hall.
